This is an overall term used to describe a group of symptoms associated with the decline of mental ability and memory that impacts with daily life. Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia are the most common types.
We understand that providing care for someone living with dementia is complex. Dementia is an unpredictable and a progressive illness. Over time, their abilities decline and there can be huge emotional and psychological changes in a person. It can be a very difficult and distressing time for the person themselves and for their families as the personality and behaviours of someone with dementia changes.
We can support you if you or a loved one has dementia throughout all stages of with all aspects of Care at Home support if required, but also more than that.
We offer emotional support and understanding to a person struggling with the impact of memory loss can have on them, to the distress it can be causing in a certain situation…such as forgetting where you left your purse. When they have lost the ability to focus and can’t remember why. When you need a prompt to take your medication at the right time or assistance to plan and prepare your meals and drinks.
We can provide respite support, so that the main carer, usually the spouse can have a little time to themselves. We can spend this time engaging the individual in a task or interest of their preference, such as crafts or going for a walk. We can be there to provide supervision and ensure they are safe whilst easing their distress.
We can help. Call us today on 07726 435201 or 07541 549541.
